Our boat is a Lagoon 450F catamaran, 13.9 meters long and 7.8 meters wide, with a draft of only 1.3 meters.

We have previously sailed a beautiful 56-foot ketch, but the dream was a catamaran when the boat becomes a home.

Catamarans offer more space, which is practical for living on board. The shallow draft, which makes it possible to sail where regular boats cannot and stand stable at low tide.

Other advantages include a larger inflatable boat, private room and toilet for almost every person, and stable sailing without rolling on the lee.

The space on board is phenomenal and creates a good living space, perfect for enjoying the days both at sea and in bays.

The biggest disadvantage is poor upwind sailing, where crossing at 50 degrees is necessary, which gives a little extra sailing time when the wind is turning the wrong way – but this is outweighed by the advantages.
